Support us

Our village hall is at the heart of the community, a place where people come together for celebrations, activities, and local events. With your support, we can ensure it continues to serve the village for generations to come.

Like many community buildings, the hall faces ongoing costs to remain safe, warm, and welcoming. Essential expenses such as heating, electricity, water, insurance, and cleaning must be met year-round. Alongside these are the inevitable costs of maintenance and repairs, from everyday wear and tear to essential upgrades that keep the building accessible, safe, and fit for modern use.

As a registered charity, we rely on income from bookings and events to cover these costs. However, this alone is not always enough. Continued support from our community is vital to help us maintain and improve this shared space.
Join our 100 Club!

We have launched a new 100 Club fundraising scheme to help support and maintain the village hall for future generations.

Members aged 16+ can join by purchasing £60 annual shares (paid by standing order). Each month, a draw is held where up to 50% of the income is paid out in cash prizes, with the remainder going directly toward hall upkeep and improvements. The scheme is fully registered under the Gambling Act 2005.

Funds raised will help cover essential costs such as repairs, utilities, upgrades, and new equipment. If fully subscribed, the club could generate around £3,000 per year for the hall.

Joining is simple: complete a membership form, set up a standing order, and you are entered into the monthly draw. All data is handled securely in line with GDPR.

It offers a simple and enjoyable way to support the hall, with the added possibility of winning a monthly cash prize.
Become a Trustee

One of the most valuable ways to support the hall is by becoming part of the committee.

We are always looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a lasting difference. You do not need prior experience, just an interest in supporting the hall and the community it serves.

As a trustee, you will:

  •  Help shape the future of the hall
  •  Ensure it is run responsibly and sustainably
  •  Work with others to oversee finances, maintenance, and development

The role is flexible and manageable, with around 10 meetings per year plus an AGM in the spring.

By becoming a trustee, you are directly contributing to the long-term success of a vital community asset.

Volunteer Your Time

If becoming a trustee is not the right fit, there are still many ways to get involved.

Volunteering your time, whether helping at events, supporting maintenance, or assisting behind the scenes, plays a crucial role in keeping the hall running smoothly and keeping costs down.

Come to a fundraising event

Throughout the year, we host a range of enjoyable events designed not only to bring the community together, but also to raise vital funds for the hall.

Every ticket purchased, raffle entered, or refreshment enjoyed helps support the ongoing costs of running the hall and contributes to its long-term future.

To see what’s coming up, please visit our What’s On page, look out for updates in Meldreth Matters, and keep an eye on noticeboards around the village and at the hall.

Your support at these events makes a real difference and we look forward to welcoming you.
